Chao Chao

As I have mentioned in my previous blogs my job allows me to meet some incredible people and Judy is no exception. She contacted me last year after picking up one of my cards at a charity event for Give Pets A Chance. She wanted some pictures of her 3 dogs as the health of two of them wasn't the best.

So early one Saturday morning I headed over to meet Judy, her husband Al and her three dogs Chao Chao, Mei Mei and Zhu Zhu. I never know what to expect when it come to pet photo shoots and this shoot was to be no exception.
Judy's three dogs were absolutely beautiful and I knew that when I left there that it would not be the end of our communication. As you know I am an animal lover and so is Judy so from time to time I would check in to see how her girls were doing.
So when I saw an email from Judy a few weeks ago telling me the time had finally come and that Chao Chao had let her know that she was ready to go, the tears welled up in my eyes as only a fellow pet owner who has been through it would truly understand.
But at the same time I felt extremely honoured to be the one to capture the 3 of them and hoped that I did them justice.

Yesterday I received the most beautiful card from Judy with one of my pictures on the front of it. As you have seen on my website I give a disc of the edited images to every one of my clients. I do this because even though I am honoured to have taken the image, and I love what I do, the images would never mean more to me than than they do to the family they belong to.
I have been asked by many photographers why I do this when I could make more money selling prints!!!

Well I think what Judy says below sums it up -

"Tracey,
I don't know what I would have done without our pictures. They have truly given me comfort because I have her always with me. This card captures, well your picture on this card captures Chao so gracefully walking away into the garden with dignity and grace. When I first saw this picture I knew it would give me the strength to let her do just that when she told me it was time. When you're in the area drive by and see the garden sign. Chao is there for all to see - thanks to you and your ability to capture the beauty of our animals.
Thank you"

Senior Pictures

Well it's that time of the year again - senior picture time!!!!!

When I first started doing my photography here in the US one of the most popular questions I was asked was "do you do senior pictures"? Of course I would say yes as I do many different types of photography - but after being asked the question so many times I began to think...........what is the fascination with photo shoots of people from an older generation????
So I decided to ask someone and was politely told they were of teenagers in their final year of school :-)

A few weeks ago my first senior picture shoot for 2010 took place with Caleb at the McKinley Monument Park in Canton. His mom Chris, his grandmother and girlfriend all came along which made the shoot a lot of fun :-)

I wanted to capture what Caleb was all about so he brought some of his gear that he wears when he goes dirt biking. When we went back to Caleb's home we took some additional shots of him with his car as well as in another dirt bike outfit which he had used the previous night - still covered in mud!!!! He also decided to add mud to his face so now he really looked as though he had just walked straight off the dirt bike track :-)

It was definitely an afternoon of fun :-)

Below is what Chris his mom had to say about the shoot -

"Tracey Nicita provided our family with a great photography session. I contacted her and scheduled my son’s graduation photo session and found her extremely thorough and flexible. She provided us with what options would work best for us, was very creative, down to earth and extremely professional. We couldn’t be more pleased. Our photos turned out fantastic, she was very quick to turn around our photos and would highly recommend her for capturing your special day with her photography services"……..Christine Forester, Massillon Ohio

Give Pets A Chance Holiday Fundraising Events

I met Deb the founder of GPAC about a year and a half ago. I was looking at doing some Charity work and animals are always high on the list.
GPAC is a Wayne County based charity who helps pets and other animals by providing financial assistance for the medical care of animals to individuals who otherwise could not afford it.
We came up with the Holday portraits event which has been successful for us for 2008 and 2009. It took place at the Orrville Pet Spa & Toutmans Vineyard in Wooster.

It is always a lot of fun and it was great to see a lot of people and the pets come back and do a shoot in 2009.

To everyone who came along thank you for supporting such a great cause :-)

Their website is www.givepetsachance.org. So if you are interested in donating or volenteering please contact Deb or myself.

Ben's Photo Shoot

As a photographer you not only get to meet people but you have to get to know them to capture the essence of who they are, and doing that I have met so many great people who I have kept in contact with and call my new friends here in the states.

I met Teresa a few months ago at a wedding I was shooting and she contacted me to do a shoot with her son Ben as he was just about to turn 10.

The shoot was done at the cabin at Wayne College in Orrville Ohio. It was a great afternoon and I think I had as much fun as Ben did just clowning around - not  to mention Ben trying to immitate my "Aussie Accent" :-)

So here are a few images from the shoot and Teresa's testimonial below -

Hi Tracey,

I just want to thank you for the great pictures of Ben! I love all of them! I have recieved so many compliments on them! I am having a hard time deciding which pictures to print! You were so good with Ben, he really liked you a lot! I love all the different poses you took of him also! I have recommended you to a lot of people, Ben and I think you are so nice and sweet!

Thanks so much,

Teresa and Ben

Jodie & Bo

My love for animals was something that started at a very young age. I was fortunate to have parents who instilled in me a great respect for animals and their lives so it was only natural for me that pet photography become a part of my portfolio. Even as I went through photography school it was my cat cleo who was my constant subject. I could see the look of "not again" in her eyes every time she would see a lens in her face :-)

Through my photography I have been so blessed to have met such wonderful people and Jodie is definately one of them. Her Aunt had given her my details and she contacted me to take pictures of her handsome Rotti Bo. Unfortunately Bo had terminal cancer and passed away a little over a month after the shoot.

The shoot was done at her parents property where she and Bo would go on their morning walks, and where Bo hung out with his pal Nemo.I really wanted to capture the essence of their everyday lives together and felt honored to be given the opportunity to do so.

Jodie has created a Blog about her life with Bo and it also contains information on special diets etc for owners of pets with cancer - http://www.4mybo.blogspot.com/.

Below is the testimonial that Jodie wrote recently -

Dear Tracey-

I believe people are brought into our lives for a reason. With that being said, you captured such amazing photos of my Rottweiler Bo and I together. I look at them daily as a reminder of how very special he was to me.

What I liked most about your style of photography is that the photos and surroundings are as things happen and the photos do not appear “staged”.

The photos you have taken of Bo bring smiles and joy to me more than you will ever know.

I look forward to seeing you again when we bring another fur-baby back into our lives.

Best,

Jodie Puster and Bo the Rottweiler
